This aftermarket replacement distributor rotor button Fits Ford (Fits New Holland) 2N, 8N, and 9N tractors equipped with a front-mount distributor — the configuration where the distributor is mounted directly under the fan blade and water pump, with the generator/alternator mounted on the RIGHT side of the engine as viewed from the operator’s seat. The rotor button is a critical ignition component that transfers high-voltage spark from the distributor cap center terminal to the correct spark plug wire terminal as the rotor spins.
Important Fitment Note
For Front-Mount Distributor tractors only (1939-1950). Fits Ford 8N tractors: fits serial numbers UP TO 263843 only. 8N tractors after serial number 263843 use a side-mount distributor and require a different rotor. All 2N (1939-1947) and 9N models use the front-mount distributor and are fully compatible.
