When your tractor starts burning oil or you notice blue smoke coming from the exhaust, worn valve guides are often the culprit. These guides keep your intake and exhaust valves properly aligned and sealed, but after years of heat cycles and engine vibration, they wear out and let oil seep where it shouldn’t be. This TISCO replacement guide gets your engine sealing properly again so you can get back to work without that telltale smoke cloud following you across the field.

What You’re Getting

  • Precision-machined guide that maintains proper valve alignment and seating
  • Durable construction designed to handle the heat and pressure of engine operation
  • Direct replacement that installs with standard machine shop tools
  • Quality aftermarket part that meets or exceeds original specifications

Built for Real Farm Work

This valve guide fits International Harvester 100 series, 200 Series, Super A-1 Series, Super AV-1 Series, and Super C Series tractors with the 4-cylinder gas engine. These are the utility and row-crop tractors that have been handling farm chores for decades, from cultivating and planting to loader work and PTO operations.

Made to Last

Farm engines work hard, and valve guides take a beating from constant heat cycling and combustion pressure. This TISCO guide is manufactured to handle those conditions, with proper clearances and metallurgy that resist wear and maintain a good seal between the valve stem and guide bore.

Installation Notes

Installing valve guides requires machine shop work—they need to be pressed out and pressed in with the proper tools, and the new guides typically need to be reamed to size for your specific valves. Eight guides are used per engine (four intake, four exhaust), so you’ll want to replace them as a complete set when doing engine work. Most shops will also recommend having your valve seats cut and valves ground when installing new guides.
