Installation Notes
Installation is simple – just unscrew the old knob and thread on the new one. Make sure to thread it on completely for a secure fit. If your old knob is stuck, penetrating oil and gentle heat usually does the trick. While you’re at it, check your shift lever for excessive play or bent sections – years of use can cause wear that makes shifting imprecise. Also inspect the rubber boot at the base of the shifter. A torn boot lets dirt into the transmission, so replace it if damaged.
